About Us
La Macarena Hats was born from a deep connection with nature, art, and the stories that live within the materials we use.
I am originally from Argentina, where natural fibers like wool have been used for generations by indigenous communities in the north of the country. In these traditions, wool is not simply a material it is part of an ancestral relationship with the land and animals, respected for its durability, warmth, and sacred presence in everyday life.
This perspective has deeply influenced the way I approach my work.
I understand that today many people are navigating important questions about the materials they choose to wear and use. My intention is always to work with materials that are natural, long-lasting, and used with respect and awareness.
Another element often present in my hats are feathers. All the feathers I use are naturally collected from the ground. I live in the Riviera Maya, surrounded by jungle and wildlife, where many birds naturally shed their feathers. I gather them myself during walks in nature or receive them from people who collect them in the same respectful way.
Nothing is taken from the animals these elements are found, not extracted.
Each hat is created slowly and intentionally, becoming a piece that carries natural elements, personal symbols, and the energy of the person who will wear it.
For me, creating hats is not only about fashion.
It is about honoring materials, listening to intuition, and staying in coherence with the earth.
Every piece is made to be worn as an amulet something that connects art, nature, and the story of the person who chooses it.
